The CALL..that could extend my life

By the end of 2025 Dr. Alvear had changed some things with the operation that would eliminate complications that previous patients had been encountering and provide a permanent solution to cure the SMAS going forward in all individuals. (Dr. Alvear lives in the USA but he is licensed medically in the Philipines as well as the USA.)

It was just another day laying around in bed, when I heard the messenger ring tone start to play from my phone, but it wasn't just another phone call. It was Dr. Alvear. We talked as he went through my documents I had sent him. (I remind you, this man is retired, he isn't billing me or my insurance for these FB calls, he is trying to save lives with the time he has left in his) He would look at a test, ask me questions, read notes, look at images. Everything seemed how it should post surgery as he progressed, until he got to a gastric emptying study. The study itself and what they were looking for appeared good, and the notes reflected as such but as he went through the imaging he paused mid sentence and said um...well there is a problem, my duodenum was compressed and inflamed in the imaging. The person who read the imaging wasn't even looking for that or anything that had to do with it, but Dr. Alvear saw it. He continued through my documents and said that according to my imaging I definitely still have SMAS and MALS despite the surgeries and the MALS revision as well. He said the problem with these vascular compression disorders, is that you can not get the full picture of what's going on or what's going wrong with the imaging alone. You need to be opened up and looked at inside with an exploratory surgery first.

He explained it me this way because I was very confused...He is only doing the surgery in the Philipines, and the reason is because he can offer an "all inclusive" package that includes EVERYTHING. The hospital stay, the surgery, all medicine, a 6 week stay in a 2 bedroom Villa that is located right next to the hospital, transportation to and from surgery and pre and post opp appointments. This pays the staff, anesthesiologists, literally everything and its $25,000. In the USA the cost would be astronomical. Also, my insurance wont pay for a single thing except to Indiana doctors and NO ONE here will touch me literally. Remember earlier when I told you my insurance pre-approved all those surgeries in Virginia and how happy I was....I got bills in the mail totalling over $500,000 saying that insurance rejected them after receiving the bills. This is literally my only hope at survival.

My husband is my full time caregiver. He was working part-time while the kids were at school for a couple of months, but within the last couple of months I have started passing out multiple times a week sometimes even multiple times a day, and he cant leave me alone now. I am back under care from a cardiologist trying to figure out what is going on there as well.

Any donations to my gofund me will be used strictly for medical purposes of me getting to the Philipines to have surgery to save my life so that I can watch my kids grow up, watch them graduate and get married. I want to be able to get out of this bed and be the mom I have always been for these boys. They need me and I need to get better, but if I cant raise this money by April, the liklihood of me ever improving is slim to none. Please if you can find it in your heart to donate even a dollar or a prayer even. I know God will carry me through this as he has all 33+ surgeries he has in the past 2 years. On top of all of this you can add in about 150 appointments and countless ER and med check visits. Most times I am simply labeled as a person with an eating disorder or in a few extreme cases even worse. The horrible treatment of someone simply because you don't know or understand a condition is disgusting and rampant across healthcare in America. Our system is broken, my insurance is broken, and my hopes and spirits will be broken if I cant figure out how to raise the money to get there and get these procedures taken care of!
